Helen started working with beads in 1996
when she and her husband lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico,
an area steeped in the tradition of both native American
and Hispanic art and jewelry. After taking classes on off-loom
bead weaving and stringing techniques of semi-precious stones
and vintage glass, she was hooked!
Helen is inspired by beads from all over the world...from Bali and Thailand...African trade beads...German vintage glass...freshwater pearls from China
and Japan. By mixing beads of various origin, she espresses her passion for colors and textures. She strives to make her work elegant and wearable for a broad
range of tastes. Helen currently resides on Molokai with her husband, a retired Air Force officer.
